Shipping Policy — Pelican Essentials

Shipping locations

  • We currently ship PAN India.

  • Cash-on-delivery (COD) is currently available only in Bangalore. We’re working on expanding COD to more cities.


Dispatch timeline (made-to-order furniture)

  • Most Pelican Essentials products are made-to-order (crafted after you place the order).

  • Typical dispatch timeline: 10–25 days from order confirmation.

  • The most accurate dispatch estimate is shown on the product page (each product can have a different timeline).

  • Dispatch timelines are best-effort estimates. Slight delays or early dispatch can happen due to production schedules, material availability, finishing/curing time, quality checks, or logistics constraints. We’ll keep you proactively updated, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, dispatch dates are not guaranteed and do not create legal liability for minor deviations.

  • You’ll receive a notification as soon as your order is dispatched.

Pre-orders

  • For pre-orders, dispatch is typically ~30 days (approximate). The expected dispatch window is shown on the product page.


Delivery timeline (after dispatch)

  • Once dispatched, delivery time depends on your location and courier/freight routes.

  • As a general guideline, we aim to deliver:

    • Bangalore: typically within 1–3 business days after dispatch

    • Outside Bangalore: typically within 5–10 business days after dispatch

  • Remote/low-connectivity pin codes, weather disruptions, strikes, or carrier delays may extend transit time. If anything shifts, our team will keep you informed.


Shipping charges

  • Free shipping for deliveries within Bangalore, Karnataka. Any standard local entry charges (if applicable) are covered by us.

  • A minimal shipping charge applies for shipping addresses outside Bangalore, Karnataka (shown clearly at checkout).

  • In exceptional cases where we agree to deliver to non-serviceable pin codes, any special transportation/shipping costs will be borne by you. We currently cover 15,000+ pin codes across India.


Order tracking

  • To check your order status, please create/sign in to your account at PelicanEssentials.com.

  • Once your order is dispatched, we share tracking details (when available) via SMS/email/WhatsApp.

  • For heavy/bulky furniture, delivery is often scheduled (industry standard). Our team or the carrier may contact you to confirm a delivery slot.


Delivery & access (important practical notes)

  • Please ensure the delivery location has reasonable access (building entry, lift/staircase width, and doorway clearance).

  • If your building requires prior permissions, delivery timing restrictions, or special handling, please inform us in advance.

  • If re-delivery is required due to customer unavailability or access issues, additional charges may apply (depending on carrier terms).


Checking delivered products (at the time of delivery)

Please inspect the product before accepting delivery. Check for:

  • Visible damage: breakages, cracks, chipping, deep dents, torn upholstery (if applicable).

  • Surface condition: minor dust or reduced shine can be corrected with a soft cloth/wood polish (normal after transit).

  • Assembly readiness (if applicable): all nuts/bolts/parts present; fittings align properly.

  • Stability: legs even, no wobble; seating feels structurally stable.

  • Internal areas: no loose pieces/splinters inside drawers/under panels.

  • Natural wood characteristics: grain variation, knots, mineral marks, and shade differences are normal in hardwood.

  • Seasonal wood behavior: slight expansion/shrinkage in extreme seasons can occur in solid wood (normal).


Damaged product

  • If you receive a damaged product, please report it immediately at delivery (to the delivery team) and also email us at info@pelicanessentials.com with photos/videos.

  • Our team will assess the issue within 2 business days and confirm the next steps—repair, replacement, or parts support—based on severity and feasibility.

  • Please retain the original packaging until the issue is resolved (it helps with assessment and reverse pickup, if needed).


Order cancellation

  • You can cancel your order before delivery by logging into your account and selecting “Request cancellation.” Refunds follow our refund policy.

  • Cancellation at the time of delivery is allowed except for made-to-order (MTO) products.

  • Cancellation after delivery is not allowed; however, you may request a return within the applicable return window (as per our return policy).


Cancellation fees

  • No cancellation fee for regular (non-MTO) orders.

  • For MTO products, the advance order fee (if paid) will be forfeited if you are unable to accept delivery.


Note: We strongly recommend being present at the time of delivery to inspect the product for manufacturing defects or transit damage. If you notice any issue, inform our delivery team and contact our support immediately—our team is here to help.
